Defense is a celestial body stat which reduces or amplifies how much “damage” offensive moves of energy deal when reaching their destination.

Unlike other stats in the game, the Defense of a celestial body decreases across higher tier space types and higher level bodies. However, the decrease doesn’t follow a set function. Instead, the levels of celestial bodies have been lumped into “tiers”:
The base Defense for each tier (though, this may be different depending upon the round configuration).
For more advanced players, you may wish to take a look at the exact values of a round by using the following in the console:
df.contractConstants.defaultDefense[i] // where i = celestial body level #
In some rounds (namely, DFDAO’s Arena), the Defense multiplier may be set to different values.
